Last day of the month, three shorter priced selections on the boards for the speed figure ratings. Seems like lots of smaller fields recently. 5-7 runner handicaps leaves very little value to play into.
Remember from the 1st Aug we are moving to all bets win-only for the purpose of tracking, but feel free to play them however you like.

Our speed ratings initially highlighted Connie's Rose and Candy Warhol as the only genuinely well-handicapped horses in the race, allowing us to confidently discard the rest of the field. Between the two, we have landed firmly on Connie's Rose.
Drawn perfectly in stall 3 at a track that heavily favors front-runners, she is proven over this exact course and distance on fast ground. She takes a massive class drop today, while her main rival remains completely winless on turf. Furthermore, sectional timing proves Connie's Rose has the superior early burst to control the pace from the front. With William Carson—a highly profitable jockey at Bath—riding for a thriving Grace Harris yard, she holds all the aces.
16:30 Newcastle Reginald Charles @ 3.50
We used raw speed figures to pinpoint the major contenders in this race, instantly shortlisting Reginald Charles, Andalprofit, and Wish This. While Andalprofit has early gate speed, sectional data proves he hits a stamina wall over seven furlongs and will fold late. Wish This gets a dream tactical run but was discarded due to dismal recent trainer form.
This leaves Reginald Charles. He is miles clear on the clock, fits perfectly into this 0-65 class, and boasts proven course-and-distance form. Although the pace projects to be slow—forcing our closer to overcome a tactical disadvantage—elite track jockey P.J. McDonald has the exact local expertise needed to navigate the late traffic.
19:25 Muss - Jer Batt win bet @ 4.50
Our initial speed metrics highlighted Jer Batt and Montezuma, but a deeper dive makes Jer Batt the clear standout. We quickly discarded hold-up horses like Francisco's Piece due to a lack of early pace. Sectional timings prove Montezuma burns too much energy mid-race, leaving him vulnerable late. Conversely, Jer Batt boasts brilliant late-race stamina over this exact course and distance.
Dropping down to a Class 4, his recent form comments show he is fully revitalized following wind surgery. He is drawn perfectly to track the lone front-runner, Curious Rover, keeping him out of trouble. While his jockey is enduring a quiet spell, trainer David Barron’s yard is firing at a 20% win rate, offsetting any connection concerns.
