Welcome to MarkYourCard for racing on Saturday
Well, we certainly got the value again on Friday :
5.50 Newmarket - Angel Shared @ 15 —> 4.50
20:03 Newcastle - Sports Coach @ 12.0 —> 3.5
Need a few of these to convert, but we really are smashing the value out of these selections.
We are sitting about +5pts for the month at advised prices/stakes. For a first month sending these out, i’m ok with that. I have already made a few small changes to selection methods, Jockey/trainer stats have been filtered massively so we are using a lot less of those.
Speed figures have had a few changes implemented so there will be fewer selections, but hopefully the ones that remain will be much more profitable.
I have added a “profile horse” and will be adding a “hot race” section going forward.
Still seeing what works and what doesn’t work, but overall, not a horrible first month so far. I have seem some people who charge massive fee’s for their work do a lot worse.
Lets see what we can find for Saturday … the type of race we target look to be thin on the ground on Saturday. Lots of higher grade racing and not too many sprints to get stuck into.
Jockey/Trainer Stats
Am not playing any of these, just pointing out stats.
Cieren Fallon has a great record at Newcastle over the last 2 years
Especially when riding for either Haggas or Owen.
Fallon / Haggas - 17 runs, 9 wins, 11 places
Fallon / Owen - 8 rides, 4 wins, 6 places
Rides tomorrow :
2.10 Newcastle - Wiltshire - Haggas
3.15 Newcastle - Kirchner - Owen, J P
3.45 Newcastle - Power Fizz - Haggas, W J
Repeat Performance
3.45 Newcastle - Fivethousandtoone @ 12.0
4 places 1/5th *365/betfred/willhill and more
Won this race last year from a mark of 95. Is rated about 10lbs higher on AW than on turf and his record backs that up.
After winning this last year, he was beaten ½ length in another class 2 at Wolvs, back at Newcastle in January, again beaten just 1.5 lengths in another class 2 over this track and trip staying on at the finish. Then again back here in April, beaten just one length by Wiltshire again over this track and trip.
Wiltshire is on this same card here today running in a group 3 race .. so our horse keeps good company and always puts in a good run here.
Should not be too far away again once things heat up in this race. Seems to be a good in-play bet or an each way price given most books are paying out on 4 places.
Drops In Class
4.50 York - Hengest @ 8.0 - 4 places 1/5th
After a very progressive profile and three wins on the bounce, the horse was thrown into a race that was simply too much for him last time out. Returned to more manageable level here should give a good account.
After an initial run in a maiden hurdle race on debut under Jamie Snowden, the horse went to Cunha and run twice more in Novice races to get an initial handicap mark of 69.
On handicap debut in a 0-70, the horse ran on well to win a class 5, 0-70 at Windsor by 2.5 lengths.
Next time out at Lingfield won again in a 1m 3.5 f race at Lingfield, where the average OR was 66, that time from a mark of 74.
Then followed up again at Yarmouth in a class 5 race with an average OR of 74.
Was bumped to a mark of 84 after that one and was put into a very hot class 2 handicap at Epson. Avg OR that day was 92. Was very much outclassed there on soft ground.
Goes into a much more playable Amateur Jockeys Handicap race here AVG OR is 74. Ours runs off a mark of 82, Decent jockey, fair price, 4 places on offer. I thought he would be shorter.
Just the two bets for me, plenty of good racing to watch, not too much I would want to risk money with. Good luck if you play along.
