3.15 Beverley - Woodstock @ 5.5 - win bet

The horse has a very decent record of 5 from 33, however the last wins came back in summer of 24, both at Newbury, both 0-80 class 4’s The first from a mark of 80, and the second from a mark of 82.

That pushed mark up to 87, and following a long run of races where the horse ran down the field, he went close at Ripon back in Aug 25, going down a head that day on a 6f class 4 handicap from a mark of 76.

As the hose has come down the weights he has started to run closer recently. five of the last 6 runs have seen him get within 3l of the winner.

Last time out at Thirsk, ran in a class 3 0-90 and went down just over a length to finish third that day.

A big drop in class here Woodstock is top rated at 75, the next best is going from a mark of just 73. If the horse has a win in him, this would be the day to step up and show what he has.

If we can get anything around 4/1 + I would be interested in this race.

4.15 Beverley - Hostelry @ 5/1 Win bet.

Won this race last year from a mark of 60. Gets in here tomorrow from a mark of 56.
Profile on the horse is excellent. On Turf she has 65 runs, 10 wins and 35 places.
Winning most jockey is Kaiya Fraser who has a record of 5 wins from 17 rides on the horse. He was not on top last time out, but gets the ride again tomorrow.


The horse went on a great run in 2024 handicap mark went from 55 to 68. Mark fell back down to 53 by April 25 .. and then a series of good runs took the horse back up to a mark of 68. Now back down to a mark of 56 again tomorrow, it looks like we could be getting back in at the bottom.

We got an indication of return to fitness last time out .. with a “stayed on” comment, the horse finished less than 2l away from the winner in 4th. Before that all form lines read “Weakened, no impression, always in rear.”

So it looks like we are ready to roll, jockey is back up on this, OR has fallen back to the correct mark, aimed at a race we won last year, Indications of return to form/fitness.

If we can get 9/2 or thereabouts when they open I would be having a bet here. I suspect this one will go off shorter. (if you can get 3 places, go ahead and take e/w at 5/1. Otherwise, win bet is fine)

8.30 Kempton - Max Mayhem @ 20/1 4 places

The last win for this one was in a class 2, here at Kempton back in Nov 23 from a mark of 99. The win before that was again .. here at Kempton in a class 2 from a mark of 93.

Not been in nearly the same form since.
Now 8 years old, will certainly have lost a bit of his speed.

Last seen on track here in the UK in Jul ‘25, that was a 1.5 length defeat in a class 2, 0-105 handicap at Sandown. After that race the horse was picked up by George Baker Racing for 28,000 GNS and he was sent to Bahrain. towards the back of last year, had three runs over there in Dec and Jan and that has bought the horse a 9lb drop in OR with which to resume his UK racing career.

Wont need to be as good as he ever was to win this one, and is certainly an outside swing of a selection given the time off track and the advancing age, but I feel like it is worth taking a chance at a track where the horse is 2/2 lifetime.

Should be a decent price and we will get one or two extra places to run into for each way money.
