Welcome to MarkYourCard for racing on Friday
Todays bets were no good. Big Alex Walmsley 23.0 —> 17.0 but not good enough on the day. Then Cancan in the rain .. 8.0 —> 5.5 .. was caught in the wrong position down the straight , had to pull around the horses in front and then could not get back onto them. Gave it a go. We got value, but not the result. Not terrible.
Onto today, the speed figures have thrown up just one qualifier, I’m not convinced, but the numbers say we must back it. so it is a bet.
Speed Figure Picks
15:55 at Ffos Las : Cougar Force @ 7.0
In this race the speed figures isolate a standout target. Cougar Force shows a large speed advantage over the rast in this race, Diamond Ali and Willowinghurn were initially feared as the primary dangers based on speed alone, however a deeper dive into the sectional and pace data exposes their tactical vulnerabilities.
Wide-drawn speedballs should inject a fierce early tempo, perfectly setting up this 7½f test for a closer. Sectional data shows that Diamond Ali’s late kick stalls completely on Good ground, while Willowinghurn is a one-paced grinder. Conversely, Cougar Force's extended form and closing sectionals show devastating late-furlong speed on Good turf, having been heavily compromised by traffic in recent Class 6 sprints. Though trainer Heather Main’s recent yard form is neutral, the tactical map is flawless for George Bass to strike late.
