Looks like a slow couple of days to come. No speed figure qualifiers expected on Tuesday or weds. I do have a reasonable play for tomorrow that is dropping in class and that seems to be priced up bigger than it should be. So lets have a go with that one.

5.50 Nottingham - Mondammej @ 7.0 Paddy win bet
The horse went on a remarkable run at the end of ‘24 and into ‘25 on the all weather with 4 wins and two seconds in the space of a couple of months that took its OR from 68 up to 89.
Recent record on grass was nothing to write home about, however last time out ran in a class 3 at Doncaster finishing a very respectable 2.1 lengths 6th, fading late after running up with the pace early.
The handicapper gave him a 2lb drop for that run and he gets in here from a mark of 74. Drops way back in class down to a class 5 .. record in class 5 is 3 wins from 4 runs. This is a small field and there are a couple in here that will be expected to go well, however I’m happy for the battle hardened 9yo to take on the 3yo pretenders in this race.
Plenty of negatives, is likely a better horse on ALL Weather, and Cam Hardie rides, who has a horrible long term strike rate of just 5% winners .. however with this Trainer that improves to 10%.
The price and the drop in grade was the key to this one. I’m happy to take the 6/1 on offer and see what kind of run we get, I would say 9/2 would have been closer to the correct price in here. Lets take a swing.
