Welcome to MarkYourCard for racing on Saturday

The two that we took last night at 8.5 are now priced at 3.5 and 6.0 as I write this, so once again, value has been secured, now we just got to run the race and see how they run.

Very unusual for me, but the trail today led me to Ireland. Did not find much elsewhere, so we will have a crack at one over there.

Drops In Class

17:45 Curragh - Namiid @ 7.0 e/w 5 places.

Broke his maiden status 2 runs ago winning a a race at Navan over 5f with a strong front running display that day, strong to the line.

Next time out from a mark of 85 in a 0-100 Handicap over the same track and trip, once again broke well, led for 4f and just had nothing left to give in the final 1/2f against horses rated in the mid to high 90’s.

Last time out eased a little in grade, this time into a 0-90 at Bellestown again at the minimum trip, held a little off the front this time, came to the leaders with 1f left and was once again strong to the line, beaten into second by less than a length.

This race tomorrow is once again another drop in grade, 0-80 effectively, with the second top rated after ours on a mark of just 81. We have a 7lb claimer uo top, I suspect we break quick and lead in this one and push for the line early. They all look exposed enough in here to not have any real dangers lurking.

6/1 available with 5 places on offer, cant see any reason why we don’t at least finish in the top 5, so we are taking a shot to nothing that the win part of the bet does the job, and having it covered by the place.

Should be better than these and I expect to get a decent run for the price on offer.

Speed Figure Picks

16:17 Newmarket - Spring Bloom @ 8.0 e/w 3 places.

Spring Bloom is the play. He possesses the necessary cruising speed to perfectly exploit a "moderate" to "weak" pace forecast, mapping him to sit prominently and avoid traffic issues. From a class perspective, his validated peak speed rating gives him a clear physical ceiling edge over his rivals relative to his current handicap mark. This structural advantage is supercharged by the field's hottest connections: trainer John Butler is operating at a staggering 43% win rate (6/14) and 57% place rate at the track over the last 14 days, while jockey David Probert is in blistering form, striking a 20% win rate and 37% place rate over the same period.
