Welcome to MarkYourCard for racing on Monday

I have consciously tried to pull back a little on the number of bets that I am putting up in the last week or so, I want to try and stick with better quality selections in order to improve strike rates, without pushing down the average price of the selections that I am taking. Unfortunately this will rule out quite a few shorter priced selections, but hopefully will help in the longer term.

The racing over the weekend was higher grade stuff than I like to play, so we swerved much of it.

Better opportunities tomorrow, but again, most of the prices were short and I could find fault with the horses that I had focused on. We have just the one selection from the speed rating system.

An early look at Tuesday seems promising, it will hopefully throw up a few we can sink our teeth into.

Speed Figure Picks

19:10 Lingfield - Court Drive @ 7.0 e/w 3 places

Court Drive IRE is undeniably the best horse in the race on raw ability. Competing in a Class 5 (0-75) off a mark of 64, she is incredibly well-handicapped. Our sectional analysis of her recent Yarmouth victory highlights a devastating mid-race surge, posting a blistering 10.56s Furlong 4 split. Lingfield's 6f Polytrack provides the perfect distance and surface for her to unleash this acceleration.

Despite her massive engine, she comes with a baked-in mechanical risk: she consistently misses the break. At Yarmouth, she surrendered nearly a third of a second (+0.29s) right out of the stalls. At Lingfield, where front-runners carry a massive 1.78 Impact Value, giving away an early head start is dangerous.

At the price we are willing to take the chance on at least a top 3 finish with the potential of a win.
