Welcome to MarkYourCard for racing on Saturday

Back to a normal schedule of posting.
A few I like the look of tomorrow already, prices have just been posted, so lets get to it.

Repeat Performance

7.00 Nottingham - Emperor Cardoc @ 5.0 win bet

Won this last year from a mark of 72. Has two runs at the track and has won both.
Since last win, has gone down a head from a mark of 75, beaten less than a length from a mark of 74 and last time out beaten just over a length from a mark of 75.
Back to a mark of 74 here tomorrow, we know he can be competitive at this mark, track is perfect for him, he is 2 from two over track and trip.

Trainer has an 11% strike rate over the last 12 months, but at this track he hits at 27% 6 from 22 runs in the last 12 months. So the trainer targets this track well.

The jockey also does well here, a standard 11% over the last 12 months, but 17% at this track.

The gd to firm ground is perfect, he has 7 runs and 3 wins on this type of surface, everything points to a big run, no reason why we shouldn’t go close , 365 just opened @ 5.0 and that seems abut right.

Drops In Class

6.09 Carlisle - Financer win bet @ 5.5

This one looks to have been primed to run a big race. The question is, when will it happen ?

Has not got head in front at the line since winning a class 2 , 0-100 handicap at Ayr back in September ‘24 from a mark of 81.

Had been holding his own in a very narrow class band with an OR between 81 and 83 for more than a year and a half, until making seasonal debut in April of this year from a mark of 80. A couple of runs down the field dropped mark to 76 and the last three races, the horse has run in 0-90, 0-85 and 0-85 races beaten less than 3 lengths each time.

Despite not being beaten too far, the handicapper has started to give the horse a chance and has moved him down another 8lbs since that seasonal debut, He gets to race here tomorrow from a mark of 72.

Easterby has taken this opportunity to drop the grade the horse must compete in tomorrow, running him in a very average looking 0-75, class 5 race.

Would not have to run any better than he has been to be very competitive in this one. Certainly worth a punt I feel at a fair price.

Speed Figure Picks

15:56 Leicester: Grand Citadel @ 13.0 e/w 4 places (paddy)

Safely drawn in Stall 4, allowing her to assume a "Prominent" tracking position without getting caught in a wide speed duel. Her fractional data proves she has the engine to sustain blistering, sub-par early fractions without hitting a wall late.
Her absolute peak rating was achieved over today's exact track (Leicester) on Good to Firm ground. Jockey Grace McEntee operates at a lethal 50% strike rate when riding at Leicester. Should have a sound e/w chance here at a fair price.
