We had a LOT of shortlisted candidates for today from the speed figure numbers. Most were horses that were running in races where there was little early pace so the runstyle of the race did not suit the horse.
There are some well handicapped all weather horses just waiting for the right opportunities.

16:20 Lingfield (AW) - Diomed Duke

Our initial speed figure calculations immediately separated Diomed Duke from the pack. He is currently running approx 4lb better than his handicap mark.
Rivals like Wyle Cop and Forager had speed figures that showed they needed a fair step up today on what they shown in recent races, while Noble Vow mapped terribly as a hold-up horse in a race lacking early tempo.
The pace and draw metrics sealed the selection. Lingfield’s 5f Polytrack heavily favors early speed (front-runners boast a massive 1.70 Impact Value). Drawn perfectly in stall 2, Diomed Duke has the ideal setup. Opening-furlong sectionals (13.24s) confirm he is significantly sharper out of the gates than Wyle Cop (14.18s), allowing him to dictate an uncontested lead on the rail. Early speed threat Forager is trapped out wide in stall 6 and lacks the initial burst to cross over.
Past form notes forgive Diomed Duke's lone synthetic blemish due to uncharacteristic held-up tactics. With trainer Stuart Williams operating at a 21% strike rate at Lingfield and 7lb claimer Olivia Haines boasting a flawless 3-for-3 record at the track, everything points to a dominant front-running display.

The 16:49 at Salisbury presents a fascinating puzzle, but our speed figures immediately isolated Cindy Lou Who and Betty Clover as the standout targets. While Betty Clover boasts strong raw numbers, her tendency to hang left and weaken under late pressure makes her a vulnerable danger, leaving Cindy Lou Who as the confident selection.
The tactical map suggests a cut-throat early duel between front-runners Angel Shared, Miss Nightcap, and Zen Diva. This projected meltdown perfectly suits Cindy Lou Who, who thrives when held up off a fast pace.
Dropping into a slightly easier looking class 2 race here, she also gets her ideal Good to Soft ground.
Sectional data confirms her elite stamina on testing turf, clocking blistering sub-12.60s final furlongs when front-runners hit the wall.
With jockey William Carson riding to form and no red flags coming from connections, everything aligns for a potential big run at a big price.
